TyrePlus - TPMS

TPMS iconTyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) consists of wheel sensors that provide tyre pressure and temperature data directly to the driver and can also send this data to your TIP Telematics platform

You can access TPMS data with TIP Telematics, where you gain access to an environment of game-changing data enabling you to elevate your fleet management!

What is TPMS?

TyrePlus is the next-generation tyre pressure monitoring solution for trailers, it is specifically designed to reduce fleet running costs and improve vehicle safety. Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is a system fitted on a trailer that allows you to evaluate the inflation pressure and temperature of the tyres, or the variation of this inflation pressure over time and to transmit the information to your drivers or fleet managers.

TIP TPMS uses sensors strapped on the rim, and in this way, we secure a high accuracy of both tyre pressure and temperature information.

TPMS stampUN ECE R141 compliant TPMS notifies your driver via a warning light in the cabin when the operating pressure in one of the vehicle’s rolling tyres in contact with the ground has been reduced by 20 percent. The warning light will show within 10 minutes of this event occurring. Further with TIP TPMS, you can benefit from real-time information on tyre pressure and temperature provided via our TIP Telematics interface. In this way, your Fleet Managers can remotely access and evaluate tyre performance as well as receive alerts every time there is a pressure loss reduction by 20 percent or other incidents such as tyre blowout or a non-reporting sensor.

TIP Telematics TPMS

With TIP Telematics you have access to all the data from your connected trailer, including TPMS. A powerful software interface that allows you to monitor your assets, communicate alerts, and analyze your data with reports and dashboards. TIP Telematics requires TPMS hardware to be present on a trailer to function.

Retrofit TPMS (TyrePlus)

If you have a trailer that has been registered before July 6, 2024, then it is unlikely that it has TPMS equipped. TIP is able to retrofit a TPMS system to your trailer. There are various options and technologies to choose from, reach out to your TIP contact or fill in the TPMS form and we can design the solution that fits your requirements and budget.

TIP Telematics combined with TPMS capabilities

  • Measure tyre temperature
  • Measure tyre pressure
  • Send alerts when the pressure drops below the threshold
  • Warning dashboards
  • Reports to provide early leakage detection, increasing road safety

Benefits of TPMS

Detect tyre problems before a major incident occurs

Improved fuel economy

Increased fleet uptime

Reduced CO2 output

Improved road safety

Trailer Compliance UN-ECE R141

*The benefits mentioned above depend on how quickly and effectively the recipient of the data responds and takes action

How does TPMS work?

1. Wheel Sensors: TPMS uses pressure sensors mounted inside each rim.

2. Data Measurement: These sensors continuously monitor the air pressure and temperature of each tyre. They can detect even slight changes in pressure.

3. Data Transmission: The sensors transmit real-time tyre pressure data wirelessly to the driver's cabin and TIP Telematics platform through the modem.

For Dispatchers and Yard Personnel

Know that you are sending out a trailer that has an extra level of safety and reliability. Easy to identify problematic tyres and solve any issues that have developed.

For Drivers and Yard Personnel

Comfort in knowing that there is a system in place to warn of a pending problem. Peace of mind that you are less likely to cause a catastrophic incident. Fewer breakdowns due to improved detection which leads to less downtime for drivers.

For Fleet Managers

As a fleet manager enjoy reduced fuel and tyre replacement costs, and improved sustainability objectives. Reach reliability and delivery schedule targets. Data in a centralized digital environment.
