Curtain Recycling Scheme Raises Funds for FBB&G

Our EHS team, with the support of our branch operations teams, raised £1,090 for this years charity bike ride by recycling used trailer curtains rather than allowing them to be discarded at landfill.

Throughout 2023 our branches have been collecting old and / or damaged trailer curtains and periodically issuing to our waste management partners who, in turn, issue them either to a business that makes bags, rucksacks etc. from them or to other businesses that repurpose them into shelters or other useful items for use in Africa and emergency aid zones across the globe. In doing so, TIP has earned a nominal amount for each curtain recycled and that has been donated to the charity bike ride effort.

Avoiding traditional disposal costs and reducing landfill waste makes this nice little initiative a win-win.
