Gerard Berghuis appointed new Chief Legal Officer of TIP Trailer Services
TIP Trailer Services, a portfolio company of I Squared Capital and one of the leading trailer leasing, rental, maintenance and repair providers across Europe and Canada appoints Gerard Berghuis as new CLO. Gerard will be joining TIP starting from June 1st, 2021. He will be taking over from Jan Ihlau who sadly passed away at the end of last year.
With more than 25 years of experience in law, of which 15 years leading corporate legal functions, Gerard is a very knowledgeable General Counsel. He has global experience built up in various industries including leadership roles in biotechnology, retail, automotive/manufacturing and telecommunications companies.
Gerard Berghuis started his career in Rasker & Wibbens Advocaten, a law firm in Amsterdam, after which he became a corporate lawyer with AT&T Unisource. He then moved to Fujitsu Siemens as Legal and Commercial manager for Europe. In 2001, he became Senior Counsel for Europe and Asia for Eaton Corporation followed by a move to Liz Claiborne in Amsterdam and New York where he was Head of Legal for Mexx in EMEA. For the past 7 years he was Senior Associate General Counsel for IDEXX Laboratories a $2B high biotechnology global leader, where he was responsible for legal outside the United States.
Gerard will be based in TIP’s international headquarters in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
