Mechanic Team Competition: Celebrating the expertise of our workforce

Welcome to our new initiative “Mechanic Team Competition” 2021! With more than 100 teams across Europe and Canada participating, the internal competition started this September and will continue in 2022. The main goal is to support and celebrate the talent, expertise, and efficiency of our mechanics.

The contest is divided into 4 rounds:

  • Workshop Competition
  • Country-wide Competition
  • Regional Competition
  • Global Competition

The teams made of two mechanics are evaluated on three individual elements.

First, practical ability, such as skills, speed, and quality. The diverse tasks along the rounds included either moving spring break cylinders, making an intermediate cable for a tailgate, or renewing brake pads on the left and right side of each axle with disk brakes and replacing the wheels on the left and right of axle one and axle two on a trailer, etc.

The second part of the competition focused on theoretical knowledge, with the difficulty increasing each round with 20 questions for 1st Round, and 30 for 2nd round. The tests present case questions with problems that need to be solved based on the fundamental rules on how different parts are repaired or changed.

Lastly, the IT proficiency of the team players was assessed on how to find technical data and how to use the Matrix (software for all mechanic workshops developed by TIP), demonstrating their understanding. Mechanics successfully passed this level. TIP is rewarding with prizes each winning duo for their professional skills and devotion to their conscious work!
