TIP launches electric Light Commercial Vehicles and comprehensive services in the field of last mile delivery
Amsterdam, 15 November 2021 – TIP, the leading transport and logistics expert for assets and services on the road, today announced the expansion of its portfolio with electric Light Commercial Vehicles for last mile delivery. Part of the offer is a comprehensive service spectrum for seamless integration, maintenance, and servicing of the vehicles.
The transport and logistics market is changing, and not just because of increasing e-commerce. Last mile delivery is one of the areas most affected by this change. As a strategic partner to its customers, TIP has decided to enter this market segment with electric Light Commercial Vehicles (eLCVs) for leasing. Starting in September 2021, TIP integrates in a first step around 300 vehicles into their existing fleets. The 10 to 11.5m3 electric vans are available mainly in France, Spain and Italy, and will be later available in Benelux, Germany, UK and Nordics. The number of vehicles will be further expanded over time. The new offer includes tailored services to support the customers holistically in integrating clean vehicles into their fleet – from the selection of vehicles and charging solutions to infrastructure planning and monitoring, vehicle maintenance and 24/7 roadside assistance. With this step, TIP not only increases the value chain for its customers, but also helps them go green.
“We see a growing demand from our customers for sustainable and smart solutions, especially in the area of last mile delivery. In fact, the pressure from the authorities as well as the public, is leading to a speed of transformation that no one could have imagined just two years ago” said Arjen Kraaij, Deputy CEO at TIP. “This market readiness, combined with the now truly mature technical solutions that eLCVs offer today, opens up a window of opportunity that we are seizing with full conviction.”
An important part of the offer are the customized services around the vehicles. TIP supports its customers from the initial analysis with driving profiles, eligible routes and TCO analysis to the choice of the right vehicles including configuration, sourcing and full service leasing as well as handover assistance. Also included are services such as maintenance 4.0 of the vehicles, remote diagnostics, monitoring and control, and 24/7 roadside assistance. Full support for all necessary infrastructure requirements as part of a unified electrification ecosystem is also part of the offering. This includes on-site audits, the installation of charging infrastructure as well as leasing and predictive maintenance of the charging station. In addition, TIP cares about the entire lifecycle of the vehicles like battery recycling as well as digital solutions that enable intelligent logistics based on telematics.
“The electric drivetrain is a truly disruptive technology in terms of operation and fleet management. After all, it's not a matter of having one or two vehicles running alongside. If you are serious about making your logistics sustainable, you need to completely rethink the way you manage your fleet”, annotated Kraaij. “With our new service and asset offer, we can help our customers to go this step transforming their entire freight transport. The TIP offer provides the first scalable solution with sustainable driving technologies at maximum flexibility and risk reduction with regard to investment and volume forecasting. This is how we are living our vision to be the trusted partner for our customers, delivering connected solutions and powering sustainable supply chains.”
