TIP Mechanic Academy to empower future generations of mechanics!
Mechanics play a crucial role in the truck and trailer industry, ensuring the smooth and safe operation of fleets. Acknowledging their significance across the transportation sector, TIP Group launched the first ever trailer mechanic education – the TIP Mechanic Academy – in Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. The Academy is developed in collaboration with Innovam, the largest training and certification institute for the mobility sector in the Netherlands, renowned for offering high quality international training support to skill and certify employees.
“The TIP Mechanic Academy is revolutionary and the first of its kind in the transportation industry, with trainees becoming TIP qualified trailer mechanics in nine months. The Academy is designed to provide a combination of instructor-led, online, and hands-on training, allowing trainees to develop the skills and knowledge required to excel as a trailer mechanic. We are excited to announce the start of the Academy in the UK on September 4th!” says Eeske Hanrath, Group Talent Development Director.
“We are very proud to support TIP in developing and rolling out this TIP Mechanic Academy. Based on our role for vocational education, we have been active in the 'big wheels' training segment for many years and have gained a lot of expertise to then assess employees on their acquired expertise for the purpose of official certification. TIP wanted to guarantee the quality of training and that is why we have jointly developed a 'blended' material package. I’m looking forward to start certifying the first TIP mechanics in 2024”, says Bernd-Jan de Rooij, Manager International Business Development of Innovam.
It is TIP’s commitment to fostering talents and elevating standards of mechanics in the industry, while guaranteeing the safety of each vehicle upon completion of service. By investing in the growth and development of future professionals, we aim to shape a thriving community of skilled and dedicated individuals within TIP.
“Trainees will master all the necessary skills, from truck, body and tire technique to metal working. External certification will be intentionally administrated by an independent and qualified organization, to ensure the highest standards of credibility and objectivity in the assessment process. We are very proud of investing in future TIP talents, whether they already have experience or not!” says Jan van Vugt, Maintenance & Development Director for TIP Group.
